Congrats to gdgt! like the color scheme and the logo! will you have an app with android or apple? I think you'd be 1st if you did (among gadget blogs). don't forget to cover the cheap chinese knockoffs (they're good for a laugh :]), maybe call them fauxgts? (pronounced foh-gets) lol

For example, where the hell do I put my Squeezebox?
It certainly is a gadget and the favorite in my collection. But what is it?
Not a PMP as it isn't portable. Not a peripheral as you only include mice and keyboards here. Not a networking device - though it is part of my network. What the hell is it? You have Sonos listed as a company and I think their offering is like the Squeezebox. So I am sure the Logitech folks won't appreciate the fact that you have room for a competitor of theirs, but not the product they make.
And what about BT headsets. It seems to me that if you want to grow traffic, you'll let the big "My headset is better than yours" thing take some shape here...away from Howard.

Congrats Ryan & Peter! The intro vid looks nice, but plays very choppy after download from Vimeo. And clicking on it to get a high def version gives an error (no vid found).
I didn't know what to expect guys, but I knew you'd come through with something awesome. GDGT is going to be really fun to use. I especially like the "Had" category for user profiles... It's going to be so fun to go back at some point and be able to track, organize and discuss all the old stuff I've had that used to be new, that has since gone off to new hands.
Love the initial site and the podcasts... Good luck and keep it coming!

The video content is not that useful in showing what this site is about. Today when i received mi email informing me about the launch of this site i rushed to see it but was down at that moment.
Then i learn about this video from twitter and headed to watch it. After watching the video, and before using the site, i got no idea about what the site was about it.

I reserved my username back in September. Well worth the slow bandwidth.
Nice site, great idea. But I think in rushing to open your doors you might have missed the value in having everything ready and working. Maybe it's because I only had one cup of coffee this morning but I can't seem to flesh out my profile which I like to do immediately when I join a site. Otherwise I never end up doing it.. and on your end that means you lose my valuable demographic information for your advertisers ;)

Hmmm... I like the big-picture concept. That said, it seems to me like there's something missing.
For instance, I'd like to watch categories of threads, news or gadgets - portable gaming, for example, or maybe 4G phones. Is this something I can do, or might be able to do in the future?

Agreed.....I'm not a tech guru, but I like to think that I'm up on things due to my own lust for tech as well as listening to informed people like those running this site.
Still, I also feel like somethings missing or I'm missing the obvious picture here. Perhaps I'm just use to things being more automatic? I dunno....looks clean and simple. Maybe I'm looking too deep????

Am I mistaken, or does Veronica say, "Lets start on the front page with the new engadget's feed"? I'm sure it's just something like "in gadgets", but its ironic given Ryan's fabulous history. Either way, congrats to you all...its a great site!!
